CEE along with ERRC entered a framework of cooperation to articulate the intent and the spirit of collaboration in facilitating the sharing of knowledge and information in the areas such as Climate Change, Sustainable Development, Biodiversity conservation, traditional ecological wisdom, Environmental Education, ESD and energy education. A participatory ecosystem assessment and management programmes in selected areas covering physiographic zones of Kerala/Western Ghats was agreed to be initiated. Programmes in natural resource assessment and sustainable development will be undertaken in Kuttanad wetlands, a part of Vembanad Lake through wetland agro-forestry programmes linking sustainable livelihood initiatives, land protection and climate change adaptation including energy related issues. This was done in addition to collaborating for imparting EE and ESD for secondary and tertiary level target groups with special focus on climate change adaptation, ecosystem assessment and management, carbon forestry and water/soil quality assessment and organic agriculture.
On the occasion of signing of the MoU, Mr. Kiran Karnik, Trustee NFD and former President, NASSCOM released a brochure highlighting the achievements of- 50 years of the Community Science Centre, which has been working in the field of Science and Mathematics education since 1966.
