CEE highlighted the SECA project overview. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Craig Hall, Consul General, US Consulate, Kolkata. He expressed his concerns over ongoing high pace development at the cost of the environment. He motivated the students to come up with good projects which could be practically implemented. The SECA project event saw participation of 56 students and 28 teachers from 14 schools.
The event provided a platform for students to present an overview on action projects conceptualised for ‘Young Leaders for Change (YLC) Grant'. The action projects mainly focused on basic issues concerning the environment like littering problem, waste management, energy conservation, medicinal garden etc. The schools were felicitated to motivate students' effort in developing projects on either of the suggested themes. The event culminated with an exposure trip to the ‘Butterfly Park and Interpretation Center' where students were learnt about different facets of conserving biodiversity.
The event aided in peer learning and enhanced the thought process of students to further fine tune their YLC action projects.
