National Horticulture Board Award for HEDPro Farmer
A farmer from CEE Jasdan's Hingolgarh Ecodevelopment Programme (HEDPro) project villages won the state award for Aonla (Gooseberry) Candy, at a three-day National Seminar on Production and Processing of Aonla organized by the National Horticulture Board (NHB) at Ahmedabad during 21-23 November 2006, to promote aonla farming and processing among farmers as a livelihood option. CEE Jasdan has been promoting horticulture crops suitable for semi-arid regions in its project villages. The farmer had been motivated by CEE to take up aonla as a sustainable agriculture option. He received a citation and certificate from the NHB. |
