International Advanced
Training programme in Education for Environment and
Sustainability 2005
The Asian component of
the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA)
sponsored International Advanced Training programme
in Education for Environment and Sustainability 2005
was conducted in Ahmedabad during 27 June - 8 July 2005.14
professionals (working on strengthening environment
related teaching-learning in formal education) from
11 countries, namely Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India,
Mauritius, Mongolia, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka,
Thailand and Vietnam, attended the programme.
The course-projects focused on a variety
of aspects such as developing school support material
on EE, developing EE training modules for teachers,
teacher trainers and/or curriculum developers, curriculum
development and planning for a specific level of formal
education, developing policy guidelines/strategy for
improving school environment, etc.
