World Environment Day 2005

At the Centre for Environment Education, the World Environment Day is a time to celebrate, learn, educate and act. This year, as every year, many of our offices across the country are organizing and conducting a series of events to mark this Day. We have activities planned in nearly 25 places across the country, managed by our widespread network of regional, state, programme and field offices.

Every year, on this day, we involve organizations, individuals, experts and especially children to take part in interesting and thought-provoking activities, which help in raising awareness about environment and sustainable development. Many of our colleagues have also been invited as resource persons in activities being organized by other organizations and agencies. The theme chosen by UNEP this year is Green Cities: Plan for the Planet, and we are focusing on this theme, but not restricting our efforts towards this theme alone, addressing environment and sustainable development in all its facets.

Scroll down to take a look at our events for World Environment Day 2005 and if you we are where you are located, we invite you to come over and join us in our fun-filled activities. For details, please contact our offices regional, state or programme offices. The addresses and telephone numbers are available in the link - 'Offices' - on this website.
