The Ahmedabad Heritage Venture Lab (AHVL), a joint initiative by Center For Heritage Management & Venture Studio organized its first exhibition of Ahmedabad based Heritage Ventures, on 16 th and 17 th April, 2016 on the occasion of the World Heritage Day.
CEE being one of the founding members of Ahmedabad Cultural Heritage Cluster (ACHC) was invited to showcase its programmes and activities on heritage and culture. The team displayed ‘Discover Ahmedabad', heritage and culture map of Ahmedabad specially designed by CEE.
The visitors took keen interest in spotting the heritage destinations of the city on the map and sharing their experiences. A poster on the ‘ AmdaVadmA ' magazine, launched in December, 1979 was also exhibited. This magazine was uniquely led by the people and for the people. It was formed to create a network, in order to address local and global development priorities.
‘Cultural Trail- Ahmadshahi Ahmedabad', a small book on - the city, its chorological map, the history and rich heritage of five important monuments ( Bhadra Fort, Ahmad Shah's Mosque, Teen Darwaja , Jumma Masjid and Sidi Sayyid's Mosque) was available for sale. Part of the Parampara catalogue displaying India's culture of climate friendly sustainable practices in Textile, Clothing and Lifestyle products along with Solar and Wind energy, was also displayed.
Around 13 exhibitors displayed their heritage related products & services in diverse areas such as Artworks, Cultural Tourism, Film, Food & Lifestyle, Handicrafts, Heritage Home Stay, Performing Arts, Photography, Radio Broadcasting, Town Planning as well as Web Portal for Arts and Culture. One of the main attractions of the event was the display of 1000 traditional (heritage) rice varieties. More than 50 varieties of rice were also available for sale.
