Thrust Areas > EE for Fragile Areas
Demonstrate ecologically sound alternetives to support sustainable resource management in ecologically fragile areas.
CEE has initiated programmes to address a range of issues and to practically demonstrate ecologically sound alternatives to support sustainable resource management in fragile areas. These include activities in the biodiversity micro-hotspot of Kodagu (Coorg); interventions in remote and less-addressed regions of the Himalayas from Kargil in Ladakh to Khonoma in Nagaland; and river and ocean conservation.

Apart from education and capacity-building, CEE also focuses on promoting sustainable tourism, appropriate technologies, and information servicing and networking.
