Centre for Environment Education was established in August 1984 as a Centre of Excellence supported by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India. CEE, a national institution with its headquarters in Ahmedabad, has a mandate to promote environmental awareness nationwide.
CEE is affiliated to the Nehru Foundation for Development and inherits the rich multi- disciplinary resource base and varied experience of Nehru Foundation for Development.
CEE is committed to ensuring that due recognition is given to the role of Education in the promotion of sustainable development.
CEE’s Exhibition on Culture and Heritage
The Ahmedabad Heritage Venture Lab (AHVL) organized its foremost exhibition on culture and heritage on the occasion of the World Heritage Day, on 16th and 17th April, 2016. CEE was invited to showcase its programmes and activities on heritage and culture. ‘Discover Ahmedabad’: heritage and culture map of Ahmedabad, and Parampara catalogue were also put up on display.

Celebrating World Heritage Day
CEE North celebrated World Heritage Day on April 18, 2016 at Regional Science City (RSC), Lucknow on the theme of ‘Environment as Legacy: Protecting our Green Heritage'. Shri Pawan Kumar, Secretary, UP State Biodiversity Board, Government of India graced the event by functioning as the chief guest and felicitating Paryavaran Mitra- Earthian schools at the State level.

Eco Club Teachers’ Training Programs in Jajpur
Training program for Eco Club and DIMC’s teachers took place at Goutam Buddha Sanskruti Bhawan from 18th -20th March and at N. C. High School from 21st -23rd March 2016 in Jaipur. It focused on various approaches along with implementation of the action plans developed by the teachers.
