| Ozone layer protection and the media was the theme of a workshop held in Bangkok, Thailand, in May 2006, which drew nearly 30 print and broadcast media representatives from 18 countries. Organized by UNEP and the Centre for Environmental Education (CEE), the event aimed to raise media awareness about ozone layer protection issues and progress with Montreal Protocol compliance in the region. |

| International Day for Biological Diversity Celebration |

| The Centre for Environment Education (CEE), Himalaya celebrated the International Day for Biological Diversity simultaneously in 3 Himalayan states. Celebrations were organized for the orphans at Baramulla, for the NGOs at Dhyarighat and Kandaghat, and for students at Bhowali. |

| Tbilisi +30 Conference |

| Year 2007 marks the completion of 30 years of the first international Environmental Education (EE) conference held at Tbilisi. Year 2007 would also be the third year of the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD) and many countries have already launched the decade integrating DESD priorities and processes in the national context. |
