CEE set up the first Wetland Interpretation Centre in Chilika - the largest brackish water lagoon of Asia in the state of Orissa. The project, a collaborative venture between CEE and the Chilika Development Authority (CDA), Government of Orissa, was involved in developing of signages, exhibits and the setting up of the Chilika Interpretation Centre at the wetland.
High humidity and salinity in the atmosphere resulted in the wear and tear of some of the exhibits as well as the building. Therefore, the project was taken up to upgrade, repair and renovate the existing interpretation centre. All panels were reproduced and installed, and repairs and policing of exhibits were successfully completed.
Chilika Ecopark
Opposite the Chilika Interpretation Centre there is a plot of land measuring approximately 100m x 70m, which was developed into an eco-park. The Chilika Development Authority has asked CEE to develop this land into an eco-park. The project includes wayside signages, 3-D models, games, murals, developing cactarium and flowerbeds, etc. The project has been successfully completed.
