Youth & WASH Project: CEE initiated Youth & WASH Project was supported by UNICEF. An action research was carried out by a SAYEN club youth member on public sanitation facilities in some commercial areas of Ahmedabad. Lack of proper sanitation is a major cause for concern in a modern city. The study sought to determine the need of sanitation facilities in the city and gauge the awareness levels of citizens. The project aimed to involve the community and youth in efforts to increase awareness of sanitation and hygiene issues, ASH and SAYEN developed many short-term Water, Sanitation and Hygiene related research projects to be carried out in the field by youth and then field-testing the same. In order to reach out to maximum youth members in South Asia, WASH supported SAYEN in uploading the outcomes of all the above efforts on the SAYEN website, having the facility to exchange ideas on WASH related issues. WASH and Youth for Environment (YEN) group organised a one-month CLEANGREEN drive. This involved subprojects on water, sanitation and hygiene.
