The
UNDESD calls for involvement and participation of
all stakeholders, at different levels, to develop
a shared vision of ESD and its implementation. Consultative
processes at international, regional, national,
local and community level have been outlined as
crucial inputs to add value and provide a broad
ownership to the whole Decade. In line with this
thinking, a series of events and processes were
organised to feed into ESF, as outlined below:
1. Samvaad — A Dialogue
on Rural Sustainable Development
Samvaad brought together more than 1200 community
representatives from nearly 200 projects villages
of CEE and VIKSAT, to discuss the sustainable rural
development experiences of these communities, and
plan for the future. Click

Regional ESD Situational Analysis
CEE carried out a situational analysis of Education
for Sustainable Development—policy, programmes,
and capacities, in South Asia, with a specific
focus on India, Nepal and Sri Lanka . The analysis
was completed by October 2004, and fed into
ESF. The effort to gather similar situational
analyses from around the world as input documents
for ESF was also made.
3. Conference Papers
Although no papers were read out at the Conference,
several participants submitted papers that addressed
either one of the workshop themes or a topic that
fell within the scope of the conference theme.
Most of the papers are case studies that share
experiences that should be useful to others in
their ESD efforts, Papers on ideas, theories or
philosophy related with ESD, and Papers based
on research. The Papers have been included in
the post-conference publication. Click

4.
