Commonwealth of Learning
The Commonwealth of Learning (COL) is an intergovernmental organization created by Commonwealth Heads of Government to encourage the development of open learning and distance education, through the fostering and sharing of knowledge, resources and technologies.
Headquartered in Vancouver , Canada , COL is the world's only intergovernmental organization dedicated solely to promoting and delivering distance education and open learning, and is the only official Commonwealth agency located outside Britain .
Mandated to be in the vanguard of technological change in education and training, COL and its international network of partner organizations have helped the Commonwealth's 53 member nations and their citizens realize widespread access to quality, current education and training for over fifteen years. Fully operational since 1989, COL is financially supported by Commonwealth governments on a voluntary basis. It responds to Commonwealth needs through in-country and regional programmes and initiatives, as well as fee-for-service consulting for international agencies and national governments.

Centre for Environment Education
Centre for Environment Education (CEE) was established in August 1984 as a Centre of Excellence supported by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India. CEE, a national institution with its headquarters in Ahmedabad, has a mandate to promote environmental awareness nationwide. It is affiliated to the Nehru Foundation for Development.
CEE's primary objective is to improve public awareness and understanding of environmental issues with a view to promote the conservation and wise use of nature and natural resources, leading to a better environment and a better quality of life. To this end CEE not only creates expertise in the field of environmental education, but also develops innovative programmes and educational materials, testing them for validity and effectiveness. These programmes and materials are designed flexibly to permit suitable adaptation for use across the country.
CEE develops innovative programmes and educational material, and builds capacity in the field of environmental education (EE). It undertakes demonstration projects in education, communication and development that endorse attitudes, strategies and technologies that are environmentally sustainable. CEE is committed to ensuring that due recognition is given to the role of EE in the promotion of sustainable development.
