Educating for Sustainability Action

Dealing with the triple planetary crises requires urgent action at various levels – by communities, decision-makers, educators, government, and businesses. The years 2025 to 2030 are crucial for SDG progress in achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This period presents an opportunity to fully harness the power of education for sustainability action, especially to highlight pedagogy and resources and identify the need to develop strategic education interventions. The international conference 'Educating for Sustainability Action' is a crucial platform in this regard.
The international conference "Educating for Sustainability Action," scheduled for January 9-11, 2025, would bring together academics, practitioners, teachers, and youth to address questions such as –

  • What is the minimum environmental literacy every person should have?
  • How can EE facilitate policy implementation to engage and benefit at the local level?
  • How can EE help provide skills and build conducive environments for entrepreneurship?
  • What opportunity does environmental education provide to instil values to minimize and resolve conflicts?
  • What are the ways to effectively build teacher capacity, pedagogical approaches and tools?
  • How can EE's access to financial resources be leveraged or increased?
  • How can EE use upcoming technologies, such as AI, in creating enabling learning environments?
