Handprint CARE Event during UNESCO Conference on ESD

Centre for Environment Education (CEE), India is hosting an international event on Tuesday, 18 May 2021, from 08.00 to 09.30 am CEST during the UNESCO World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development (virtual conference 17-19 May 2021).

The event is focused on ‘Handprint CARE: An Ethics-led Action Learning ESD Pedagogy for Primary Schools’. This is a four-country initiative supported by Engagement Global, Germany. The partners are from Rhodes University, South Africa, Universidad Veracruzana, México, Universitat Duisburg Essen, Germany, National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), India and CEE, India.

The initiative is centered on developing educational resources for teacher educators and teachers of primary schools on SDGs. The focus is on an ethics-led action learning approach for learners to engage with the SDGs in the whole school and to participate in societal change for a more just and sustainable future.

We are inviting ESD educators, practitioners and researchers to seek inputs on the Handprint CARE pedagogy. The feedback and suggestions received during the event will be recognized in the final publication.
