CEE Samvad: Public Deliberations Programme

Samvad means dialogue—a thoughtful exchange through which people listen to one another, consider different perspectives and find ways forward together.

The CEE Samvad programme promotes inclusive, informed and meaningful public deliberation. It supports opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds—not only the most vocal or powerful—to understand public issues, engage with evidence and different perspectives, discuss choices and trade-offs, and develop considered recommendations.

The programme seeks to strengthen the public sphere and encourage more thoughtful, informed and constructive public discourse. It explores how public deliberations can improve decision-making, deepen participation and strengthen relationships between people and public institutions.

Building on CEE’s experience in environmental education, sustainability and participatory governance, CEE Samvad connects practice, research, capacity building and field building. It works with communities, civil society organisations, public institutions, researchers and practitioners in India, Asia and the wider Global South.
