Appeal for Contributions to Address COVID 19 Impacts

The global Coronavirus Pandemic has had a major impact on people’s well-being. Interventions are needed in several domains, including immediate relief to stranded migrant workers, to restoring or strengthening supply chains, and sanitation and hygiene behavior changes to minimize risk to people.

Centre for Environment Education (CEE) is supporting communities to address the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic, through our offices and partners in Ahmedabad, Pune, Delhi, Bangalore, Guwahati, Goa, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kalaburagi, Kolkata and in the rural areas of Jamnagar and Rajkot.

We are currently focused on:

ADDRESSING IMMEDIATE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITIES: PROVISION OF RATION KITS TO FAMILIES WHO NEED SUCH SUPPORT

Rs. 2000 per kit with ration to last 15 days Ration kit would include grains, millets, pulses, oil, salt, masalas, soap, items for daily needs). We hope to reach out to families in as many places as we can either directly or through support to other local partners.

ADDRESSING THE SANITATION NEEDS OF HEALTHCARE WORKERS IN KALABURAGI

Rs. 1700 per kit for Healthcare workers, CTF Operators and Waste collection workers. Coronavirus Protection Kit would include SMMS Coverall suit with hoodie & Shoe cover, protection goggle, 3 ply mask, Nitrile hand gloves, Waste Disposal Bag, sanitizers, soaps, chemical disinfectants, for vehicle washing. Also includes an online training session on safe disposal of these materials as per WHO guidelines.

ONLINE EDUCATIONAL CAMPAIGNS AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL

1. On promoting Handwashing
2. Sanitation and biomedical waste management at healthcare facilities
3. Municipal waste management, including safe handling and disposal of masks and gloves

PREPARATIONS TO RESTORE AND STRENGTHEN SUPPLY CHAINS, SUPPORTIVE FACILITIES, PRODUCER-CONSUMER LINKS AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS AMONG RURAL-URBAN COMMUNITIES THAT WE AND OUR PARTNERS WORK WITH, BEYOND THE LOCKDOWN PHASE.
