About the project : The project focus is on development of 3e’s – education, engagement (of community) and entrepreneurship (among youth and women) in identified three villages of Halol Taluka, District Vadodara. It will focus on enhancing educational outcomes for the students through providing remedial or supplementary coaching, enhancing community engagement in sustainability issues at village level and provide exposure, skill training and marketing support to youth and women through entrepreneurship development support.

Develop programmes for income generation and better utilization of resources, through field programmes designed specifically for rural communities

Conservation efforts are rarely successful in the absence of a general understanding of the need to integrate environmental consideration into development strategy. It becomes necessary therefore to practically demonstrate the superiority of ecologically sound projects and technologies which can promote such understanding and environmental sensitivity.

The vision of the Urban Programmes of the Centre is to contribute to the knowledge and practice of sustainable development of urban areas through local policy dialogue, multi-stakeholder and participatory approaches, promotion of equitable and inclusive public governance, and promotion of SDGs in the urban context. CEE develops, adapts and encourages a variety of sustainable urban management approaches through its programmes as well as facilitates such initiatives by other groups.

Through its projects and programmes in different cities, CEE is demonstrating ESD for waste management, mobility, air quality improvements, water management, biodiversity in urban areas, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and for participatory governance.

EE in schools and institutes of higher learning has been a thrust of work at CEE since its inception. In the area of school education, CEE works to awaken interest, raise awareness and provide information and knowledge among children, about environment in all its aspects, taking children towards action to improve the environment; and develops, produces and disseminates prototype material and programmes covering a wide range of environment and development themes. While CEE works directly in many schools, it facilitates teaching-learning of environment in schools through networking and partnerships. CEE has played an important role in mainstreaming EE and ESD in the school curriculum through participation in development of syllabi for EE, textbook development to infuse EE at the national level, with several state boards and other publishers of textbooks, orienting key persons in the education sector, and building partnerships for strengthening ESD in school education. ESD programmes in schools, from awareness to action, is aimed at behaviour change education with innovative pedagogy to involve young minds in becoming a responsible global citizen.

Programme Directors :

Leading Centre's activities under a programme area (Programme Director) or a geographical region (Regional Director) individuals operating at the

Programme Directors (PD) level at the Centre are responsible for developing the overall vision for their area of operation and programmes/region that they lead; developing/broadening the scope of the whole programme; developing the overall perspective of CEE in their area of operation vis a vis the larger ESD field; leading innovations within their own programme areas and representing CEE as a whole; must have proven networking skills at national, regional and international levels and be part of relevant networks, associations, bodies at national and international levels.

A PD at CEE operates several projects and activities under one or more thrust areas of work. Typically, a PD is expected to raise funds, manage programmes and activities of worth 5-6 Crores annually; to lead a team of Programme Officers, Programme Coordinators and Programme Administration Assistant. PDs are also part of the forum that acts as a think tank and counsel to the Director on overall programmatic work/priorities/strategies of the Centre.

Qualification and Experience requirements :

First Class Master’s Degree in Science / Social Science; PhD in Education preferable

Minimum 15 years of relevant experience of working on development programmes with formal education and school system. Min. 5 years of demonstrated leadership experience in managing large scale education programmes and a decent team size.

Job Description (General)

A Programme Director (PD) shall be responsible for the following :

  • Building, leading and executing a Programme Team (of Programme Officers, Coordinators and Administrative Assistant)
  • Developing vision for their area of operation and programmes
  • Mobilising resources, including funds and technical expertise towards newer Programme Development and making programmes/projects self sustainable

  • Academic writing: shall be responsible for strengthening the academic value of the Centre's work. This could include activities such as writing analytical reports, publishing ‘learnings' documents, writing research or journal papers, articles, etc. Such academic work could feed into in-house journals and publications as well as into other ESD forums.
  • Contribute in overall Institutional Development at Centre

Educational Qualifications : A self-starter, dynamic team leader with Graduate/Post Graduate in any Discipline of Life Science/Social Sciences/Environmental Science or equivalent. Preferred First Class. with minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience. The incumbent will be competent in fluent communication English, Hindi and Bangla both spoken and written with excellent report writing skills. Experience in team management and school environment experience is desired/preferred. Knowledge of computers -MS Word, Excel and Power Point and internet use is essential.

Job Description and Requirements

The waste treatment plant site supervisor will be responsible and oversee the overall daily operations within the waste treatment facility. Duties typically include worker supervision, overlook equipment working and maintenance, enforcing plant procedures and policies, conducting performance reviews, and overseeing quality assurance. The supervisor also require to ensure that the plant and its operators comply with Biomedical Waste Management Rules, 2016 standards by regularly testing and keeping meticulous records. The supervisor also responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring all equipment is in proper working condition. He/She also have to maintain all the log books/ documentations of various treatment and disposal procedures as done at the site for legal compliance. The job of supervisor will also involve liaison with some of the vendors/suppliers for ensuring plant working efficiency. A timely supervision on the collection system and tracking system foe effective waste management and monitoring is also expected by the supervisor.

Note: The supervisor also have to provide an indemnity bond with CEE for ensuring that all procedures at site are as per legal compliance and no illegal activities are undertaken under his supervision

Experience: Proven minimum of 3-5 years work experience as a plant supervisor/ operator in a reputed firm/industry. Familiarity with industry standard policy, equipment and technical expertise. Job Description and Requirements

The candidate is responsible for training the hospitals on segregation and other aspects of Biomedical Waste management. He/she will also oversee the overall daily operations of the facility concerned to outside of the premise of the waste treatment facility. Duties typically include supervision and entire management of collection system- including adhering to purchase procedures of the Centre, enforcing procedures and policies concerning collection system and vehicle maintenance, conducting performance reviews of staff involved in collection system, overseeing training programs, extensive liasoning with state and district department officials for various procedures and compliances, Ensuring all documentations and policy documents regarding compliance are always intact, . The candidate is also requiring to ensure tracking system of waste collection as per Rules is maintained at every point of time. The candidate is also required to ensure enrolment of more clients to the service system every quarter as per target and regular and timely service charge collection. . The manager also has to assist with the development of information and promotional materials as well as work in tandem coordination with site technical manager to achieve holistic management system.

Work Environment : The job is physically demanding and involves mostly working outdoors at times on site and in all types of weather.
