Mowgli Bal UtsavMowgli Bal Utsav:

Mowgli Bal Utsav is an annual event organized by Government of Madhya Pradesh for last four years. About 20 lakh students from all over the state including National Green Corps (NGC) members participate at school, tehsil and district level selection process for Mowgli Bal Utsav.

CEE is a technical consultant to Madhya Pradesh State Biodiversity Board involved in programme content and material development and training the facilitators for Utsav activities. About 200 students from all over state are selected to participate in the final event organized at any Protected Area in the State. CEE is associated with the programme from its inception when first Mowgli Utsav was organized in 2004 at Pench National Park through collaboration of MP Biodiversity Board, Pench Tiger Reserve, Seoni District Administration, School Education Department and Centre for Environment Education, Central Regional Cell, Pune.

Fourth Mowgli Utsav was organized in Pench National Park in November 2007. CEE developed a Facilitators’ Manual and conducted two training programmes for teachers and forest department staff that facilitated children activities during 3 day event. A team of 4 resource persons from CEE facilitated EE activities during the Utsav.

‘Mowgli Ki Pati’ a wall paper was developed for the Utsav. This wall paper introduces plant, animal life to the children and also a quarterly calendar for eco-clubs to undertake hands-on learning and conservation activities.
